Last Monday, we traveled to Columbus to spend the lunch hour with the women of Kegler, Brown, Hill + Ritter. To get the conversation started, we kicked off with the creation of Leather Card Keepers — everyone in the room worked together to create, and then we dug into the topic at hand. Our focus was on Communicating Effectively, starting with a look at gender expectations and ending with the challenge to communicate assertively regardless of gender or personal style. As we reviewed techniques for assertive communication, participants were able to put them into practice through scenario-based discussion. As a lasting reminder, each participant selected a short word or phrase from the session to write into their card keeper!
