General Cable’s Diversity & Inclusion team has worked to develop a Women's Networking Series, which aims to provide productive networking opportunities in addition to learning and professional-growth focused events. The Communicating Effectively workshop we developed in conjunction with the General Cable team invited both male and female employees to attend and discuss the differences in perceived vs. actual gender-based communication styles. Together, we worked beyond stereotypes to develop assertive communication skills, regardless of personal style. We tied the workshop together with the creation of Leather Card Keepers, infused with a message and reminder to assert your needs and respect those of others.
